UPPER MARLBORO, Md. – Prosecutors say a D.C. police officer involved in a paternity dispute with his mistress shot the woman deceased and left their infant child to die in a hot car.

Prince George’s County, Md., State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks said during opening statements Monday that Richmond Phillips killed the two because he didn’t want to pay child support. Phillips is being tried on two counts of first-degree murder along with child abuse and firearms charges.

Phillips was arrested in June 2011 after the body of 20-year-old Wynetta Wright was found in a park where the two had met. Their child, Jaylin, who was days shy of her first birthday, was found deceased in her car seat with the doors closed and windows rolled up.

Defense lawyer Brian Denton told jurors his client is innocent and that the evidence is circumstantial.

PT – This corrupt cop needs to be executed.

  1. He’s a cop, so put him in general population and let the real men that don’t wear a badge deal with him.

  2. more options please.as long as death to this winner is involved.like circumcise him at the neck.

  3. If he did it, put him in handcuffs and lock him in a black car with a black leather interior in the middle of the Mojave Desert next July. Roll up the windows and leave him to the same fate as the little baby.
